The Milacron Quality group, a global and progressive function within Milacron is currently seeking strong, results-oriented candidates for the position of Quality Engineer. We serve the primary market segment: Advanced Plastic Processing Technologies (APPT) which designs, manufactures and sells injection and extrusion equipment, co-injection systems and related parts and services.
The role focuses on ensuring that Quality issues are quickly and effectively resolved in a manner to support just-in-time manufacturing processes. Additionally, the role helps analyze the causes of external customer, and Field Service machine component issues. This includes both external and internal suppliers. As a Quality Engineer, you analyze machine component/ parts issues in the field, determine frequency of occurrence and corrective action. You participate in cross-functional discussions on disposition of non-conforming material. You work with Field Service, Service Parts, Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Production Planning, and other groups to ensure smooth execution in the light of non-conformities. You will work with shop management, inspection, and supplier responses. You will also assist in many Quality processes and communicate to Production Personnel/Leadership, Sales, Engineering, Sourcing, and other functions.

Highly organized and has a passion for orderly execution of issues. Effective communicator with a focus on operational goals. Must be able to effectively communicate to Operations Leadership in a factual manner and ask for specific support. Collect quality data using established Milacron systems to effectively address component quality issues. Ability to establish credibility such that findings are readily accepted and not questioned resulting in confusion and slow execution. Be a partner with Operational Functions to identify areas for opportunity with clear data and a collaborative approach. Process and results driven with strong project management skills. Have functional working knowledge of Structured Problem Solving. Be a self-starter with a proven ability to manage non-conformances in a production environment. Must be able to establish cross functional relationships and partnerships through your product and process knowledge. Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances. Support leadership and maintain a high level of performance in carrying out the goals of the department and corporation.
Experience: Thorough knowledge of Milacron manufacturing processes and systems. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings per Milacron standards. Understanding of Print Reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T). Experience in Casting, Machining, Machined Components, Weldments, Supplied Components, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, Pumps, Bearings, Couplings, and other Machine Technologies is necessary. Experience in facilitating change and working with cross functional teams including engineering and manufacturing. Familiarity with US and International Industry measurement standards and tools. Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and compliance auditing experience. Proven record of using structured problem solving to drive acute and chronic quality issues to closure.
Education: BS or BA degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in a technical or supply chain related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. BS Engineering is preferred. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Proficient in English language (verbal and written communications). Additional language skills in Spanish, German, or Chinese is preferred.
