Transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients to their destination including bringing the proper requested equipment. May transport patients on remote monitoring devices from their room and will be responsible to communicate with the Central Monitoring Unit (CMU) when these patients depart and return. (50%)
  2. Responds to all transport requests with a sense of urgency, including delivery of equipment and specimens to requesting department. (15%)
  3. Drives quality and continuously improves departmental performance through timely response to pages from Team Transport and management staff, and through positive patient interactions. (15%)
  4. Ensures transportation equipment in good working order. (10%)
  5. Demonstrates and promotes hospital culture, values and management philosophy. (10%)

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred:

  • Transport or patient care experience, preferred.
