Manager of Sales Engineering

We're seeking a dynamic Manager of Sales Engineering to lead and develop our talented Sales Engineering team.

In this strategic leadership role, you will not only work closely with the sales and executive teams but also foster a culture of technical excellence and a customer-first approach within your team.

Ensuring that the Sales Engineering team effectively addresses the business and technical needs of our customers and communicates the value proposition of Hevo's platform will be paramount.

What will you do:

  1. Oversee the Sales Engineering team and ensure they provide exceptional technical support throughout the pre-sales process.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and efficacy of technical customer interactions.
  3. Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support teams to align goals and deliver on revenue targets.
  4. Provide mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities for the Sales Engineering team.
  5. Monitor and assess team performance, ensuring all members have the required tools and resources to succeed.
  6. Regularly gather and provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on customer interactions and market demands.
  7. Ensure the team's successful delivery of tailored product demonstrations and high-quality POCs.
  8. Drive technical documentation strategies, ensuring alignment with market needs and Hevo's capabilities.

What are we looking for:

  • 8-12 years of experience in a technical pre-sales role, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing technical teams.
  • Solid experience articulating the value of data and analytics solutions at the organizational level.
  • Proficiency in SQL, advanced analytics, and programmatic API interactions.
  • Strong inclination towards continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends.
  • Openness for occasional travel and representation at key events or client meetings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ELT, ETL platforms, and the broader Data Ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
  • Deep understanding of B2B SaaS industry dynamics and sales cycles.

Good to have:

  • Proficiency in guiding team members through complex technical demonstrations.
  • Exceptional consultative selling skills and objection handling at a managerial level.
  • Ability to assess and improve team processes and methodologies.
