Patient Care Technician - Emergency Department - 36 Hours - Midnights

The culture in the ED is a team approach. They must have willingness to work as a team with the expectation of being able to adjust to a high acuity and fast-paced department. Every other weekend and holiday are required, along with hard to fill days.

Shift: Midnights 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, alternating weekend schedule.

General Summary: Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Aids with movement and placement of patients.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
• Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

Education/Experience Required: - High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Certification/Licenses Required: - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Certification/Licenses Preferred: Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred. Any issuing authority accepted.
