Imaging Services Assistant - 23 Mile Macomb - 32 Hours - Days

Shift: PT 32 hours per week Tuesday-Friday 9am-5:30pm no weekends

Location: 17700 23 Mile Rd, Macomb, MI 48044

Assists technologists to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems and provides support for the imaging department. Responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients to ensure understanding, providing appropriate educational material, transporting patients to and from clinical areas and verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures, assisting technologists with preparing patient for radiology exam by positioning the patient for the procedure, assisting technologists with picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and electronic medical records (EMR) documentation on an as needed basis, following radiation safety procedures and guidelines, performing post procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies, and assisting with inventory control.

Education/Experience Required:

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable

Certification/Licences Required:

• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Additional Preferences:

• Previous medical experience preferred
• Proficient in computer usage, phone skills and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, office personnel, radiologists and technologists.
