Location: Henry Ford Hospital, 205 N East Ave, Jackson, MI 49201

Schedule: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Shift: Day Shift 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Summary:

Responsible for the activities related to the processing of financial transactions and maintains integrity of cash operation procedures. Reconciles daily deposit paperwork and submits to Corporate Finance.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debit
• Under general supervision and according to established departmental procedures, consolidate cash and prepare for bank deposit.
• Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift
• Distribute petty cash bags to clinics and ancillary departments
• Accept and apply patient payments for medical services and other hospital related services
• Greet and respond to requests in a customer-focused manner

Education/Experience Required:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of experience related to the cash operations/accounting field preferred.
• Knowledge of mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic PC knowledge, familiarity with electronic equipment and Microsoft Office programs (e.g. cash register, Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and provide customer service to people from various social-economic backgrounds.
• Typing ability and dexterity required to enter payments on computer terminal keyboard; ability to operate general office equipment.
