Assists technologists to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems and provides support for the imaging department. Responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients to ensure understanding, providing appropriate educational material, transporting patients to and from clinical areas and verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures, assisting technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams by positioning the patient for the procedure, assisting technologists with picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and electronic medical records (EMR) documentation on an as needed basis, following radiation safety procedures and guidelines, performing post procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies, and assisting with inventory control.
Education/Experience Required: High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Certification/Licences Required: BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Additional Preferences: Some computer knowledge, customer service skills.
