✨ About The Role
- Responsible for owning hardware designs for fusion generator prototypes at Helion Energy
- Designing fusion hardware within CAD software, performing analysis with tools like ANSYS, and conducting design reviews to gather feedback for iteration
- Working on the Polaris project to demonstrate electricity from fusion, contributing to the mission of enabling clean and affordable energy for everyone
- Collaborating with experienced technicians to implement hardware designs and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and being a culture driver on the team
âš¡ Requirements
- Experienced mechanical design engineer with a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 3 years of professional experience in delivering full-scope engineering projects
- Proficient in CAD software such as NX and Solidworks, with advanced experience in FEA software like ANSYS
- Skilled in solving multidisciplinary engineering problems related to electromagnetic, structural, fluid, thermal, and control systems
- Hands-on exposure to various engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and fluids
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues and work collaboratively in a small but growing team environment
