✨ About The Role
- The Experiment and Test Engineer will contribute to the development of technology and knowledge to optimally design, build, and measure FRC fusion devices
- Responsibilities include controlling pulsed power systems, designing and building plasma and high-energy experiments, and working with large scale vacuum systems
- The role involves understanding plasma physics, designing and interpreting magnetic, fusion product, and plasma diagnostics, and controlling Fusion generators using LabView-based control systems
- The Engineer will collaborate with other teams to develop technical solutions, solve data collection problems in a fast-pulse EMI environment, and work towards the goal of generating electrical power from the fusion device
- The position offers a competitive salary range of $115k-175k per year, along with benefits such as 31 days of PTO, parental leave, medical, dental, vision coverage, and an equity plan for all employees
âš¡ Requirements
- Experienced engineer with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, physics, or related field, with at least 5-8 years of relevant experience
- Skilled in designing, building, and operating complex experiments, particularly with high vacuum chamber systems or high-voltage capacitor/power supply experience
- Proficient in working with and around plasmas, and large-scale experiment or testing experience on pinch devices, accelerators, stellarators, tokomaks, power plant operations, or rocket launches
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new systems, tackle complex problems, and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong critical reasoning skills to identify technical solutions and effectively communicate with team members
