To ensure that our foundry in Amstetten continues to produce top-class products for internal and external customers, we train our own engineers:

The study program Mechanical Engineering / Production and Process Technology in cooperation with the University of Aalen offers the following focuses:

• Manufacturing processes with foundry technology, laser technology, rapid product development, forming technology
• Machining technology and machine tools
• Manufacturing organization and process management
• Robotics and virtual systems

Foundry means working with metallic materials in the liquid and solid state, working together with designers in simultaneous engineering, mastering resource-efficient manufacturing techniques, and achieving competitive performance through motivating cooperation. Foundry is not just about dealing with measurable factors. Beyond facts and reason, feeling, creativity and commitment play a decisive role. Successful cooperation in the foundry industry requires a high degree of intellectual flexibility due to the variety of specialist fields. In particular, creative people find an excellent opportunity for professional self-fulfillment in the realization of customer-oriented ideas and the design of innovative manufacturing processes.

Personal prerequisites:

• Valid work and residence permit for the Federal Republic of Germany
• Advanced German language level (at least B2)
• Openness and willingness to new facts, ideas, processes and experiences
• Self-responsibility for development and goals, learning ability and willingness to learn, team and communication skills, ability to self-reflection
• Analytical and solution-oriented thinking
• Preferably Abitur, interest and skills in mathematics, physics and/or technology as well as computer science

Duration of study and degree:

• With successful completion of vocational training in a metal trade 3.5 years
• Without vocational training 4.5 years, as then the professional core qualifications are developed

• Various functions and areas of application in material development, product development, process development, organizational development, environmental protection, solidification simulation, modeling of foundry-typical processes, customer consulting
