The Supplier Quality Engineer assesses supplier quality to ensure products are free from defects while maintaining internal Quality Assurance compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in Quality Management System revisions as needed to support continuous improvement.
Required to use and understand process control to ensure product quality.
Apply and teach how to use statistical analysis tools to qualify and improve manufacturing processes.
Track supplier scorecards to evaluate quality and on-time delivery.
Track supplier non-conformance management trends.
Issue Supplier Corrective Action Reports to suppliers when suppliers nonconformance trends require.
Issue supplier surveys to ensure supplier capabilities are understood.
Maintain and manage the Approved Supplier List.
Perform audits of suppliers per AS9100/9120.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge in the manufacture of precision machined parts
Ability to read complex mechanical drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5
Strong database, spreadsheet, analytical and presentation skills
Must be fluent with Microsoft Office suite of products
Certification as a CQI, (CQE), Internal Auditor, Lead Auditor, six-sigma black belt preferred
