Director Of Account Management

Step into a leadership role where you'll shape how we partner with clients, scale revenue, and deliver standout digital experiences. As Director of Account Management, you'll drive strategy, elevate team performance, and play a critical role in growing long-term client relationships across our portfolio.

Hearst Magazines' portfolio of more than 30 iconic brands in the U.S.—including Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Harper's BAZAAR, and Popular Mechanics — inspires, entertains, and builds new and bold experiences for an engaged and growing audience across digital, video, social and print, reaching nearly 130 million readers and site visitors each month. Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Account Management team, including both people managers and individual contributors
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership to drive account planning, optimize campaign performance, and unlock upsell and renewal opportunities
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on complex client and operational challenges, proactively removing barriers to success for both clients and internal teams
  • Act as a senior escalation point for key accounts, ensuring responsive, solutions-oriented communication and strong client satisfaction
  • Champion client feedback internally to inform product innovation, process improvements, and go-to-market strategies
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Revenue Operations, Marketing, and Ad Product to align on account health, workflows, and growth opportunities
  • Establish and scale standardized processes, playbooks, and KPIs that drive operational excellence and long-term client success
  • Monitor account performance and retention, identifying risks and opportunities to drive incremental revenue and deepen client partnerships

Qualifications (What We're Looking For)

  • Deep expertise in digital media, advertising technology, or publishing, including programmatic, direct-sold, and branded content solutions
  • Proven success leading and scaling account management teams in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into actionable account plans and revenue growth strategies
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence and build trust across senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners
  • Demonstrated experience in campaign optimization, client retention, and driving measurable business outcomes
  • Operational mindset with experience designing and implementing scalable processes and workflows
  • A collaborative, inclusive leadership style with a passion for developing talent and fostering high-performing teams
  • Based in or able to work in New York City with a hybrid schedule (4 days per week in-office)

The base salary for this role is between $133,000 - $160,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
