✨ About The Role
- Responsible for leading and owning the transition from standalone Postgres instances to Aurora, including deployment, operation, and performance at scale
- Design and execute standard methodologies for partitioning tables, archiving data, and disaster recovery solutions
- Collaborate with feature-dev squads to facilitate schema and query improvements, identifying and addressing problem areas
- Continually optimize system performance, capacity planning, and forecast management for PostgreSQL databases
- Maintain automation scripts for database infrastructure, ensuring best practices configuration and tuning for performance, maintenance, and availability
⚡ Requirements
- Experienced database engineer with expertise in PostgreSQL, Amazon AWS RDS Aurora, and database design for critical environments
- Strong background in healthcare or other regulated industries, understanding the importance of data security and reliability
- Ability to prioritize platform needs based on short-term and long-term business goals, with a focus on achieving the best outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and lead with influence
