✨ About The Role
- Responsible for deploying, scaling, and monitoring PostgreSQL databases to support virtual-first healthcare delivery
- Design and implement Postgres replication, partitioning, clustering, and cloud scaling strategies
- Optimize Postgres and host performance, establish performance metric baselines, and implement performance optimizations
- Ensure high availability of Postgres databases, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
- Collaborate with teams to improve application behavior, establish monitoring and alerting systems, and address performance issues before they become problems
âš¡ Requirements
- Experienced database engineer with a strong background in PostgreSQL, including deployment, operation, and performance at scale
- Skilled in Postgres replication, partitioning, clustering, and cloud scaling strategies
- Proficient in database load balancing and major cloud offerings
- Familiarity with ORMs, particularly Rails/ActiveRecord, is a plus
- Ability to prioritize platform needs and collaborate effectively with feature-dev squads
