- Minimum 1-year previous working experience as a Direct Support Professional
- Ability to build rapport with patients

- Familiarity with medical terminology
- CPR card issued by the American Heart Association
- Must have up to date certification in the state of VT
- Assisting clients with daily living activities (eating, bathing, dressing, hygiene)
- Supporting clients with mobility and transportation
- Helping with household tasks (cleaning, cooking, laundry)
- Monitoring and documenting client's progress and health
- Administering medications (if trained and permitted)
- Encouraging independence and life skills development
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Supporting clients in community activities and social interactions
- Ensuring safety and well-being at all times
- Communicating with families and healthcare providers as needed
