Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Under the mentorship of the Manufacturing engineering team, evaluate bills of materials and assembly routing structures to assist in preparing for migration to a new ERP system.

Responsibilities

  1. Gain hands-on experience in a real-world manufacturing environment to apply knowledge learned in the classroom.
  2. With guidance from the manufacturing engineering team, analyze and improve bills of materials and assembly routers for seamless migration to a new ERP system.
  3. Develop data analysis skills.
  4. Understand how ERP systems work and how the data is updated and maintained to support efficient business processes.
  5. Reduce downtime associated with 8 wastes
  6. Gain experience with a change management system
  7. Participate in a Kaizen event to ensure continuous process improvement.
  8. Work collaboratively with interns from other disciplines including Sustaining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials, and Continuous Improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience with PC based Word, Excel, Power Point, and Solid Works
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in the field of Engineering
  • Good academic standing
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent data analysis skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Rising Junior or Senior in a degree program for Bachelor of Science degree (B.S) from a four-year college or university in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand and walk. The employee will frequently be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
