Your Opportunity Stantec Water is seeking a Senior Wastewater Treatment Engineer to join our growing practice in Hawaii. In this consulting engineering role, you will lead talented multi-discipline teams to tackle a complex array of planning, design, and construction projects for municipal wastewater systems including process engineering, treatment facilities planning and design, and related infrastructure. You will need to be self-directed, capable of leading and supervising diverse teams, and eager to mentor staff. You should demonstrate an enthusiasm for the water industry and Stantec's water treatment practice. You will participate in all aspects of the project lifecycle – getting to know our clients and their needs, partnering with business development personnel to develop technical proposals, delivering successful projects, and maintaining contact with clients after projects are complete. Although this position will be focused on delivering work in the state of Hawaii, there will be opportunities to work throughout North America.
Technical experience to include the following:
Advance level of proficiency with applications of commercial computer wastewater process simulation software packages including, but not limited to, BioWin and/or GPS-X. Experience with design of water and wastewater infrastructure. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication including public speaking experience. Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders. Strong project management and/or design management skills. Must have a good driving record and valid driver's license.
BS degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering. MS in related fields preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience. Valid Hawaii Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months required. Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
