Role Summary

The Supervisor, Network Operations Support (NOS) oversees the execution of Network Operations Support and Central Load Planning (CLP) activities. As a people leader, the Supervisor, NOS leads and establishes priorities for a team of union employees to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines while maintaining a culture of continuous improvement, professionalism, and integrity. As a people leader, this position supports Network Operations Support (NOS) and CLP activities for Alaska Airlines.

Key Duties

  • Supervises the execution of CLP activities including ensuring load plans and aircraft weight and balance calculations are optimized and compliant with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Alaska Airlines policies.
  • Reviews, analyzes, leads, and directs process and performance improvement for load planning and station operations technical support for sabre, catering operations, security, and irregular operations events.
  • Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback in adherence to all company policies and the Labor Contract.
  • Influences the culture of the team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
  • Addresses problems, develops solutions, and drives for resolution or corrective action.
  • Responsible for maintaining optimal staffing and productivity levels in alliance with divisional and operational objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safety and consistency in operations and customer service through effective policy and procedure development.
  • Represents NOS and CLP for all cross-divisional policy and program changes.
  • Develops and maintains a professional, cooperative relationship with Labor/Union leadership.
  • Maintains all technical qualifications of a Centralized Load Planning Agent.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required:

  • A minimum of 3 years of airline operations, weight and balance operations, or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with other teams and workgroups.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with strengths in team building, systems thinking, and managing objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to negotiate win-win solutions across divisions and customer groups.
  • Proven experience developing employees and the ability to drive employee engagement.
  • Outstanding communication (e.g. verbal, written, and listening) and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of the COPS Contract.
  • Specific knowledge of native sabre.
  • Knowledge of Lean process design and Safety Management System (SMS).

Salary Range

$86,700 --$105,600 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate. Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
