In this role, you will be responsible for most design aspects of a project including electrical design, PLC and HMI development, and data collection and reporting operations. You will develop and review the design budget, schedule, and scope of work in support of project development under the supervision of a Senior Engineer or Design Manager. You will independently manage vendor design and deliverable schedules and serve as primary day-to-day contact between the vendor and project team. You will also perform automation system commissioning and startup with minimal supervision.

Degreed engineer in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or related field with 5 to 10 years of experience in industrial controls design. Experience in the food, pharmaceutical, beverage, or consumer products industries is preferred.
Ability to understand and generate electrical designs/schematics for automation and control systems. PLC programming in RSLogix5000 for Allen-Bradley is required, other platforms are desired. HMI programming in one of the following is required: Allen-Bradley, Wonderware, or Ignition. Ability to develop simple sketches and drawings and provide verbal instructions to communicate and define design requirements. Ability to use basic electrical instruments such as multimeters required. Strong computer skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Flexibility is required to adjust to changing timelines and meet deadlines. Ability to understand and adhere to both company and client design standards. Excellent skills in time management, organization, and analytics. Must be able to communicate in an objective and concise manner with supervisor(s), project managers, process engineers, suppliers, clients, and others, both orally and in writing, as related to job duties. Must exhibit sound interpersonal skills and maintain amicable professional relationships with all company, client, and related business personnel. Must be self-motivated with regard to the completion of assigned tasks and in obtaining new work from supervisors. Basic understanding of hydraulics, fluid flow, pneumatics, and electric circuits.
