To excel as a Part-Time Adult Mental Health Support Services Counselor at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, a combination of education, experience, and key skills is essential. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling, alongside a minimum of one year of experience providing behavioral health services to adults facing serious mental illness or emotional impairment. Registration with the Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or the commitment to register as a QMHP trainee within 30 days of employment is mandatory.
