The Acquired Brain Injury Program at Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) is part of Rehabilitation and is located at the Regional Rehabilitation Centre. HHS is a regional trauma centre, and with an affiliation with McMaster University Medical Centre, there are opportunities to be involved in education and research in addition to your role as a clinical practitioner.
As a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team, the Neuropsychologist will provide direct cognitive and behavioral assessment as well as treatment services for Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The Neuropsychologist will work with and supervise the unit Behavioral Therapist and Psychometrist as well as Rehabilitation Therapists helping to implement various treatment programs. The Neuropsychologist will provide consultation to other health care professionals, team members, families and patients regarding diagnosis and treatment strategies. The Neuropsychologist will provide cognitive and behavioral consultation to the inpatient teams as well as assist in developing related treatment programs for patients as well as to work with families and external agencies in a liaison role to also facilitate implementation of related strategies. The Neuropsychologist will provide supervision to staff and other learners including involvement in Hamilton Health Sciences accredited Neuropsychology Internship Program.
Schedule Work Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 8-4
