Technical Field Support Manager - Norway
BEA Sensors Europe is looking for a technical field support manager in Norway – the position is based in Oslo.
The mission: The mission of our Technical Field Support Manager is to act as a local technical expert and ambassador for BEA solutions. You will support business development activities through technical training and demonstrations while also providing on-site support for complex or urgent customer issues. This hybrid role requires technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strong customer interaction skills in a multilingual context.
As Technical Field Support Manager you will be required to ensure a strong local presence, enable rapid technical responsiveness, and act as the go-to field expert within a defined region while expanding BEA's reach in the Norwegian market by driving awareness, enabling partners, and enhancing the product's technical reputation.
Your responsibilities will be as the following:
Technical Support
- On-site support for complex, urgent or escalated technical cases.
- Assist in the commissioning of large-scale installations ("project start-up") to guide, advice and support the BEA sensor installations on the field.
- Analyse trends in recurring technical issues and escalate appropriately.
- Interface with BEA's Technical Support Department (TSD) when product performance or design is impacted.
- Conduct and support local field testing and trials.
- Provide technical backup to local sales and customer service teams.
Training
- Deliver both basic and advanced technical product training.
- Promote standards (e.g. EN16005) through workshops and lobbying.
- Provide hands-on, use-case-based technical training at customer sites.
- Deliver expert-level installer training in the local language.
Market Engagement
- Identify and engage with installers, integrators, and key users.
- Build and manage relationships with indirect sales channels.
- Collect structured feedback from current product users.
- Identify competitors and monitor market/technology trends.
- Participate in regional technical committees and events.
- Conduct jobsite visits for key projects.
Skills & Experience
- You hold a bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electromechanics, Automation, or a related technical field, with a strong affinity for commercial aspects (prospecting, customer loyalty), or you have at least one significant experience in a B2B context.
- You have 3 to 5 years in a technical support, field engineering, or pre-sale's role. Experience working with customers on-site in a technical capacity is highly preferred.
- Your language skills are as follows: English and Norwegian (other Scandinavian languages would be big assets).
- You are willing to travel +/- 50% of the time.
- A good educator, you can deliver training to various audiences (technicians and/or sales staff).
- You possess strong interpersonal and listening skills, are persuasive and diplomatic, to advise and guide your internal and external clients.
- Naturally curious, you know how to ask the right questions and argue effectively.
- You demonstrate a great capacity for adaptation, anticipation, and initiative-taking.
- A true team player, you also know how to work independently.
- You have a critical mind and approach work in a methodical way, while also understanding the sense of urgency and priorities.
- You are dynamic, patient, and persevering, and maintain an optimistic attitude under all circumstances.

- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
