We are looking to bring on an Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, or Geologist Intern to join our team during the summer of 2026. This person will assist office engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks. This is a full-time role that will be about three months long starting in May or June of 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on field experience and be a valuable contributor to our project teams. This role will be based out of our Princeton, NJ, Cherry Hill, NJ, Bethlehem, PA, or Holicong, PA office locations.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Serve in a field support role, working on technically challenging projects, including sample collection of various environmental media (e.g. soil, ground water, sediment, surface water and air).
  • Assist engineers and Project Managers with the planning and execution of site characterization programs on various infrastructure and real estate development projects.
  • Assist with evaluation of subsurface geotechnical and/or environmental data.
  • Express a willingness to visit construction sites to assist in the field with our construction monitoring service group.
  • Complete 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training course where required (not all internship programs will require this training).
  • Attend weekly Lunch and Learns.
  • Attend weekly Internship Community Sessions.
  • Complete a presentation at the end of the summer to include, but not limited to, your overall internship experience, technical projects review, favorite project, biggest obstacle, etc.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
  • Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software.
  • Driver's license highly preferred.
  • Ability to work for three or more consecutive months on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 weeks preferred).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Experience

  • Candidate should be at least two years into their academic career.
  • Candidate should be enrolled in an environmental engineer, environmental scientist, or a geology or geoscience educational program (undergraduate or graduate).

The salary range for this position in Princeton, NJ and Cherry Hill, NJ is $23.00 - $26.00 hourly. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
