Hakuba Hr Assistant Position

Location: Hakuba

Contract term: Permanent

Period: Immediate start

Work hours: Average of 40 hours per week

The Role Overview

The HR Assistant will join team that plays a pivotal role in fostering a productive and harmonious work environment that reflects our company's values. Working with the HR Executive, the individual will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy of Hakuba Hospitality Group. The individual will assist with handling all aspects of human resources practices and processes, supporting business needs, recruitment of staff, and administrative tasks.

Required Attributes

  1. Knowledge of computer systems and databases.
  2. Basic knowledge of Japanese labor laws and best HR practices.
  3. Knowledge of the unique operational challenges and opportunities presented by being located in a resort environment.
  4. Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  5. Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  6. Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  7. Japanese language ability that's Business Level or higher.

Human Resources Assistant Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategy, particularly focusing on seasonal and permanent staffing needs and the management of staff.
  2. Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
  3. Assist with the recruitment and selection process to meet the staffing requirements of the company, ensuring a smooth and efficient adaptation to the seasonal fluctuations of the business.
  4. Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management, particularly in regard to employment contracts and work conditions.
  5. Assist with coordinating any administrative tasks related to human resources with other departments.
  6. Nurture a positive working environment by developing policies that promote company culture and vision.
  7. Assess training needs to apply and monitor programs across different departments.
  8. Coordinate with the property management and housekeeping teams to maintain the staff accommodations, and prepare them for seasonal and permanent staff to reside in.
  9. Report to HR manager and provide decision support through HR metrics.
  10. Assist with planning team building events and outings.
  11. Ensure safety and wellness of the team.

What You Need

  • Legal right to live and work in Japan (visa support is available)
  • Japanese or international license preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per the requirements of the Head Office.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (such as furniture and stacks of linen), and handle the physical demands of the job.
