Salary – £50,000 (Plus £5,700 car allowance or access to company vehicle)
Hours: Contracted 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Monday to Thursday – 08:30 to 16:30
Friday – 07:30 to 15:30

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Supervisor (Electrical Bias) to support the day-to-day operations of our Surge Protection Devices, Installation, and Maintenance Division. This hands-on supervisory role is critical in ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high standards of delivery, and supporting departmental targets across a range of electrical surge protection activities, from site surveys through to final installation. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, a keen eye for coordination and detail, and the ability to lead a team effectively in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, logistics, and execution of all surveying, installation, and maintenance works related to surge protection systems. Assist with invoicing processes and collaborate with the finance team to contribute to monthly departmental reporting.
- Supervise and coordinate a team of field engineers, planners, and administrative staff, ensuring tasks are delivered to schedule and in line with client expectations.
- Work closely with the Surge Director and Operations Manager to ensure sufficient resources are in place to meet ongoing and future project demands.
- Monitor and report on monthly operational performance, including engineer utilisation, cost tracking, and job completion. Identify areas for improvement and support the reduction of operational overheads where possible.
- Ensure all works comply with current health, safety, environmental, and legal regulations to uphold safety standards and ensure required documentation is completed and submitted.
- Demonstrate confident leadership by making operational decisions, supporting your team, and communicating clearly with senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with the company's quality assurance systems and help identify risks and issues that could impact service delivery. Take a proactive approach to implement corrective measures when needed.
- Support client satisfaction through clear communication, professional conduct, and by delivering work that meets or exceeds expectations—ensuring repeat business and long-term client trust.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong people management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate both site and office-based teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with internal departments and external clients.
- Electrical background with knowledge of surge protection systems, electrical installation, or inspection & testing practices.
- Proven ability to manage small projects or operational tasks from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Experience supervising or leading engineering teams within an electrical or technical field environment.
- Good understanding of operational workflows, project scheduling, and the importance of timely delivery.
- Familiarity with financial principles including job costing, profit margins, and supporting budget performance.
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance relevant to electrical works.
- Competent with technology, including Microsoft Office, scheduling tools, and digital documentation systems.
- Full UK driving licence required.
