Senior Engineer - Platform

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we're building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we've empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We've raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.

The Opportunity

Our internal Platform team's mission is to unlock the full potential of our product engineering organization by providing an internal developer platform that increases autonomy and amplifies productivity—eliminating friction while ensuring security, compliance, and resiliency at scale.

We're hiring a Senior Engineer to join our dynamic and talented platform team to help build the internal developer ecosystem powering Grow's next-generation mental healthcare platform. You'll join a mission-driven team where engineering decisions have broad organizational impact and directly support Grow's goal of making affordable mental health care more accessible across the U.S.

As a Platform engineer, you'll tackle complex challenges spanning AWS cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes (EKS) operations, CI/CD pipelines, and the tooling, automations, and workflows that drive Grow's engineering velocity.

As a Senior-level engineer, you'll lead projects within large-scale initiatives that cross organizational boundaries. You'll share ownership of key areas of our platform roadmap and collaborate closely with your teammates to deliver capabilities that improve development speed, reliability, and scalability.

Why This Role Is Exciting

As a Senior Engineer on our Platform team, you'll have a unique opportunity to help shape how our entire organization builds and ships software—driving faster, safer, and more reliable delivery at scale. You'll join a talented, highly collaborative team of engineers whose work expands access to high-quality mental healthcare for millions of Americans.

What you'll do:

  • Help us deliver a next-generation, Kubernetes-based internal developer platform that:
    • Forms a Strong Foundation: Resilient and scalable platform architecture; Automated cluster and infrastructure management.
    • Provides New Capabilities: Progressive delivery (Canary, Blue/Green); Multi-stage deployment pipelines; Ephemeral dev/test environments; Declarative application infrastructure management.
    • Reduces Friction: Self-service application lifecycle workflows; Golden-path Application infrastructure abstractions.

Who You Are

  • 6+ years of professional experience: You have a track record of delivering successful outcomes on business critical infrastructure / platform projects.
  • Cloud infrastructure: You have deep experience automating cloud infrastructure on providers such as AWS using tools such as Terraform or Crossplane.
  • Kubernetes: You have experience operating clusters (e.g., EKS), automating their lifecycles, and maintaining production SLOs for cluster services.
  • Technical Breadth: You have experience with multiple backend languages (preferably Python, Go, and/or Typescript), solid foundations in networking concepts, and feel at home in a Linux terminal environment.
  • Impact-oriented: You prioritize outcomes over output and think deeply about the business and user value behind your work.
  • Self-starting: While you're happy to take direction, you are intrinsically motivated and thrive when given a set of requirements and the autonomy to meet them.
  • Adaptable: Your strong opinions are loosely held; you're open to new ideas and avenues of exploration; you are able to roll with the flow when business opportunities arise and priorities shift.
  • Team player: You collaborate well, communicate with empathy, and enjoy mentoring and learning from others.

Role Details

  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
  • Base Compensation: $210,000 - 240,000 USD Annually (Hybrid Commitment) or $177,000 - 200,000 USD Annually (Fully Remote Commitment)

This role can be hybrid (onsite from our NYC, San Francisco, or Seattle hub location three days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) or fully remote. Both arrangements include travel 2–3 times per year (e.g., company and department offsites). The base compensation for this role will vary depending on several factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, and the candidate's working location.

Full Time Employee Benefits

  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus life and disability coverage.
  • Parental Leave & Family Support: Up to 18 weeks paid leave and a new child stipend.
  • Financial Wellness: 401(k) program and equity opportunities.
  • Meals & Home Office Support: Stipends for home office setup and ongoing funds for meals, with tailored perks for both remote and in-office employees.
  • Time Off to Recharge: Flexible PTO, 12 paid holidays, and a full winter break week.
  • Wellness & Development: Annual stipends to put towards personal & professional growth.
  • Mental & Physical Health Support: No-cost access to therapy through the Grow platform, weekly flexible hours for self-care ("Mental Health Mornings/Afternoons") and memberships to leading wellness apps (such as One Medical, Headspace, and Talkspace).
  • Extra Perks: Pet insurance discounts, commuter benefits, and global travel assistance.

Research shows that some groups hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. If you're excited about this role but don't check every box, we encourage you to apply. At Grow, we value diverse experiences, transferable skills, and the unique strengths each person brings.
