Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Traveling Service Technician

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Travel-Based Role) Position Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Traveling Service Technician to support the service, diagnostics, and repair of heavy construction and specialty equipment at customer job sites and facilities. This is a travel-based position operating out of the Pittsburgh area and is well-suited for a technician with strong electrical, hydraulic, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills who enjoys field service work and variety in their day-to-day responsibilities.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction and specialty equipment in the field and at service locations • Assemble, disassemble, and service major components including hydraulics, electrical systems, diesel engines, and powertrain assemblies • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs within required timeframes • Diagnose and repair electronic and CAN-bus systems • Fabricate and machine steel components as needed • Operate forklifts, cranes, welding/cutting equipment, hydraulic torque tools, power tools, and heavy equipment in active or confined jobsite environments • Complete service reports, inspections, quality control documentation, parts lookups, and requisitions • Identify and report suspected equipment damage or abnormal conditions

• Experience working on heavy construction or specialty equipment (earthmoving, utility, crane, mining, or similar) • Strong diagnostic skills in hydraulics, electrical/electronic systems, CAN-bus controls, diesel engines, and powertrains • Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams • Willingness and ability to travel • Strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and desire to learn
