Senior Project Engineer – Commercial Construction

A leading commercial general contractor is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support a growing portfolio of projects including retail shopping centers, creative office spaces, ground-up construction, remodels, and tenant improvements. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to take on increased responsibility while working alongside experienced project management and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project coordination and documentation
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project logs
• Support budgeting, cost tracking, and schedule updates
• Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, and consultants to keep projects on track
• Review plans and specifications to ensure scope alignment
• Help maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with contract requirements
• Participate in project meetings and assist with progress reporting
• Support multiple projects including ground-up and tenant improvement work

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of experience in commercial construction (Project Engineer or similar role)
• Experience working on retail, office, or tenant improvement projects preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
