Employee Benefit Account Executive
A leading full-service insurance brokerage and consulting firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Employee Benefit Account Executive to join its team. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated insurance professional committed to delivering high-quality services and helping clients effectively manage risk through insured solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Management and Retention: Maintain a high annual client retention rate. Develop and execute a 12-month service plan for each client account. Maintain frequent contact with clients through on-site visits, email, telephone, and presentations.
- Strategic Consulting: Ensure client satisfaction by consulting with key officials and committees. Provide consultative, educational, and informational sessions to clients. Develop a three-year strategy to achieve a desired product mix, including cross-selling additional products and services.
- Team Collaboration: Report regularly to the sales and marketing team. Proactively communicate and promptly resolve client issues.
- Market Awareness: Manage competitive product and services information to stay ahead of market trends.
- Travel and Meetings: Attend on-site and off-site meetings as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience & Education: Minimum of five years of experience in insurance brokerage or as a health insurance carrier. Thorough understanding of group medical plans and a strong working knowledge of ancillary plans (dental, life, STD, LTD, etc.). A college degree is required.
- Licensing: A valid Massachusetts Resident individual Producer License in health and life insurance is mandatory.
- Technical & Soft Skills: Proficient in Health & Welfare compliance matters (e.g., ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, 5500, DOL). Superior business development skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to deliver compelling group presentations.
- Additional Qualifications: Knowledge of municipal employee benefits programs is a plus. Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel statewide as required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of internal staff, management, external clients, prospects, and vendors.
