Position Overview:

The RN – Wound Care Specialist plays an essential role in ensuring the best clinical outcomes for our residents by managing, evaluating, and treating wounds using evidence-based practices. You'll collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and maintain individualized plans of care aimed at promoting healing, comfort, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and document findings accurately.
  • Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and team members.
  • Monitor healing progress, make treatment recommendations, and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Provide education and consultation to nursing staff on wound prevention and care techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control policies and best practice guidelines.
  • Participate actively in quality assurance and clinical improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident assessments, treatments, and progress notes.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of Minnesota in good standing.
  • Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWON, or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Prior experience in wound management, long-term care, or rehabilitation setting strongly preferred.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and documentation skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong communication and teamwork abilities.
