Position Summary:

The International Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily air and/or ocean import and export operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and profitable movement of freight. This role leads the operations team, manages carrier and customer relationships, and uses CargoWise and performance metrics to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee import/export operations from origin to destination, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance
• Develop and execute strategic initiatives focused on gross margin growth and customer experience
• Use data, metrics, and KPIs to analyze performance, identify trends, and drive operational improvements
• Manage, mentor, and develop the operations team, fostering collaboration and accountability
• Identify and develop high-potential talent to support future leadership growth
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and foreign agents
• Serve as the primary point of contact for operational issues and escalations
• Develop and implement operational policies and systems to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Ensure continuous compliance with import/export laws and regulations
• Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in international, LTL, FTL, or expedited operations
• 1+ Years of Managing Direct Reports
• CargoWise Certified Specialist (or ability to maintain certification)
• IMDG and/or IATA Dangerous Goods certification
• Strong operational leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
