Heavy Equipment Technician – Crane Service Experience / 3-Phase Electrical Focus

About the Role: We're looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician with a background in crane service and repair to join our growing team. In this role, you'll handle inspection, maintenance, and repair work on a wide range of heavy equipment — including mobile and overhead cranes — with a strong focus on 3-phase electrical systems and controls.

This position offers the best of both worlds: hands-on mechanical work combined with advanced electrical troubleshooting in a relaxed, supportive environment. You'll have the independence to manage your workday, the backing of an experienced team, and a schedule that lets you be home every weekend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs on heavy equipment and cranes, including hydraulic, mechanical, and 3-phase electrical systems.
  • Electrical Systems: Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, motors, and control circuits related to cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all OSHA, ASME, and company safety standards, ensuring every job site and repair meets compliance requirements.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate service logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
  • Field Service: Travel to customer sites for scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, and technical support during crane erection, dismantling, or heavy-equipment servicing.
  • Customer Communication: Build strong relationships with customers through clear communication, professionalism, and reliable service.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in limited on-call duties for emergency service needs, with weekends at home guaranteed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proven experience as a heavy equipment or crane technician.
    • Strong understanding of 3-phase electrical systems, controls, and diagnostics.
    • Proficiency with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled at diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication, with strong customer-service orientation.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Home every weekend – predictable weekday schedule with time to recharge.
  • Relaxed, team-first culture – we focus on safety, trust, and quality work over quotas.
  • Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
  • Ongoing technical training and advancement opportunities.
  • Work with well-maintained equipment and industry-leading safety practices.
  • Work Truck supplied if you live within reasonable limits to our facility.
