This position services students at schools within the Hawaii District as needed and assigned by the Hawaii District Administration Office.
The salary range is $6,222.00 - $6,917.00 per month.
Examples of duties include selecting specific methods or strategies to assess student communicative performance, conducting activity and environmental analysis to determine barriers that limit communicative performance in the natural environment, analyzing, interpreting, documenting, and communicating findings, collaborating with team members to determine programming within specified time frames, providing speech-language services to address the unique needs of students, collaborating and consulting with parents and school personnel to assist with the generalization of skills and instruct students in the use of strategies to gain communicative independence, attending student-focused problem-solving meetings, school staff meetings, evaluation and eligibility meetings, individualized education program meetings, and complex or district staff meetings as needed, observing student performance in the natural environment and integrating findings to determine barriers that limit student participation in the educational setting, collaborating with other school team members to plan educational goals and interventions within specified time frames, developing efficient schedules and workload, attending conferences and assisting with in-service training of other educational personnel, conferring with student families and outside agencies, providing data on services to students, workload, student progress, equipment and material needs, and any other required information, analyzing performance in the natural environment to determine barriers between school/classroom expectations and student performance, providing appropriate services to address the distinctive educational needs of individual and/or groups of students, assisting with in-service training of other educational personnel, and collecting information from a variety of sources and providing data specific to the professional area.
Minimum qualifications include a master's degree from an accredited college or university in a speech-language pathology or communication sciences and disorders program approved by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, progressively responsible work experience, a valid Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association, a valid State of Hawaii Speech Pathologist license, and a current, valid driver's license.
Salary is based on full-time employment and includes shortage and school year differentials, if applicable. Temporary positions may be extended year to year, dependent upon funding and departmental needs.

New employees can expect their first paycheck within the first 3 pay periods of their start date. Payday is on the 5th and 20th (or previous business day) of every month.
