The job involves conducting investigations, analyses, and special studies of the more difficult and complex problems, plans, and programs involved in disaster/emergency preparedness. It includes participating in planning disaster/emergency preparedness projects, analyzing and interpreting State and Federal regulations, supervising County employees, and supporting the Los Angeles County EMS Director in planning and response to emergencies.

Selection requirements include four (4) years of experience in a responsible administrative or staff capacity dealing with the investigation and solution of problems of organization, management, or coordination of governmental disaster or emergency services programs. A valid California Class "C" Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation is required. Desirable qualifications include additional experience, a Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or Homeland Security, and certificates of completion for specific courses.
