County of Los Angeles is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency vacancies related to the homelessness crisis. Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment. Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment as Assistant Staff Analyst in Health Services Community Programs.

The Assistant Staff Analyst, Health Services Community Programs assists in research and analysis and makes recommendations regarding using and deploying resources and implementing and refining operations and programs within the Department of Health Services.
Positions allocable to this class are restricted to the Department of Health Services. They are distinguished by their responsibility for organizing and carrying out their assignments with relative independence from supervision. Incumbents analyze and make recommendations for the effective use of resources and personnel, implementing and improving programs and operations, and refining management practices and policies having department-wide impact.
Selection requirements must be met to be appointed to fill any vacancies related to this recruitment.
Option I: Three (3) years of experience in a staff capacity analyzing and making recommendations for the solution of problems of organization, program, procedure, budget, or personnel.
OR
Option II: Two (2) years of highly responsible administrative or staff experience at the level of an Administrative Assistant III, Assistant Hospital Administrator I, Contract Program Auditor, or higher.
You MUST meet one of the above requirements to be appointed to fill any vacancies related to this recruitment.
A valid California Class C Driver's License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Physical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring a light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
Before the end of your initial work period, the appointing department will evaluate your performance. Those who achieve a passing score on this evaluation will be considered for permanent appointment.
