Software Engineer - Observability

As a Software Engineer - Observability, you'll be responsible for building and operating observability solutions that ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of GTF's cloud infrastructure. Your role involves designing and implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems that give developers clear visibility into production environments. You'll work closely with other infrastructure engineers and product teams to enhance platform resilience, improve developer productivity, and ensure seamless operations across millions of daily users. In your first six months, you'll directly contribute to strengthening observability systems, driving automation, and scaling infrastructure to meet growing demand.

What Will You Do

Develop product features to improve our observability tool in GTF. This will include:

• Enable distributed tracing adoption within GTF Engineering
• Integration between existing logging, metrics, and distributed tracing
• Integrate the above feature onto gtflabs.sh, seamless & swift usage for the user
• Pricing schema and integration for the above products
• Enhance existing user interfaces, including Barito Market and gtflabs.sh
• Adding capability & polishing internal products to be ready to sell
• Develop automation for monitoring, logging, and tracing to improve system reliability and reduce manual effort.
• Ensure high availability and performance of the observability platform through proactive tuning and scaling.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to integrate observability best practices across all services and infrastructure.

What Will You Need

• Contribute to creating RFC, designing systems for new features, implementing the detailed task
• Migrating leftover service/things from 3rd-party observability platform to an internal product
• Contribute to user interface & user experience improvement
• Coding for products, features, automation & operational task
• Strong experience in observability (monitoring, logging, tracing) and related tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/EFK, Loki, VictoriaMetric, Tempo, VictoriaLog).
• Ability to debug and optimize observability pipelines, improving log ingestion, metrics storage, and alerting efficiency.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to improving system visibility and reliability.
