As Vehicle Concept Engineer, you will help the vehicle-level definition of our next-generation supercar platforms. From early concept through to handover to detailed engineering, you will work on defining the vehicle's layout, performance targets, system integration strategy, and technical attributes. Working closely with the Vehicle Architecture Team alongside Design, Powertrain, Chassis, and Body Engineering, you will ensure that the vehicle meets its performance, aesthetic, and technical objectives while balancing feasibility, cost, and manufacturability.
This is an engineer level role and as such the expectation is that you will learn and grow with the role as you are exposed to more of the business and you gain experience in the specifics of Vehicle Architecture and Concepts, a cross-functional role critical to shaping the DNA of our future vehicles.
Vehicle Concept Development: Assist the creation of initial vehicle concepts, packaging studies, and architecture layouts in line with brand DNA, performance targets, and design vision. This may be occupant position layout, systems/subsystems layout or structure design.
Seating/Ergo Buck: Either manage in house design and development of seating bucks or manage outsourced design and manufacture. You will need to ensure the design of seating bucks match the layout of vehicles being developed with sufficient adjustability to modify these quickly and efficiently throughout the project.
Cross-Functional Integration: Assist in coordinating Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams during concept phases to ensure aligned decisions and feasibility. This could be the running of Design Reviews or smaller working groups and/or release of hardpoints or schemes across the business.
Technical Specifications & Targets: Develop and manage high-level vehicle targets (dimensional, performance, regulatory) and cascade to subsystem requirements.
Feasibility & Risk Management: Identify technical risks early, propose mitigation strategies, and validate feasibility through digital and physical studies.
Innovation & IP: Help to identify and look at innovative approaches to packaging, lightweighting, and systems integration in line with the company's technical vision and limited-series manufacturing approach.
Gateway Delivery: Assist in achieving key deliverables at project gateways (concept freeze, feasibility sign-off, handover to engineering) ensuring technical maturity and stakeholder buy-in.
Supplier and Partner Liaison: Collaborate with external engineering partners and suppliers on technical inputs, co-development, and feasibility studies.
