Senior Power Modeling Engineer

The Pixel Hardware team is dedicated to building the best mobile experience by integrating hardware with Google's AI and software. As a Hardware Engineer in Power Modeling, you will play a critical role in defining the battery life and power efficiency of future Pixel devices. You will be responsible for the brains of our power projections developing the methodology, simulation tools, and data analytics that guide our product roadmap. From influencing battery sizing to optimizing how our silicon handles complex App and AI workloads, your work will directly impact millions of users.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement advanced power modeling methodologies and automated tools to predict power consumption across the entire Pixel portfolio.
  • Gather and process large-scale device analytics to understand real-world user behavior.
  • Use these insights to refine model accuracy and bridge the gap between simulation and reality.
  • Create high-fidelity models for key subsystems (e.g., SoC, display, camera, modem) under various workload scenarios.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and visualization tools that allow cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Software, and System Architecture) to consume data and make informed decisions.
  • Use your models to project the power impact of future hardware/software features, influencing battery capacity, regulator selection, and system-level optimizations.
