On-Boarding Coordinator
As an On-Boarding Coordinator, you will be critical in delivering a seamless and compliant new-hire experience for external salaried associates and campus hires based at the Akron corporate headquarters. You will manage the full onboarding workflow from contingency processing through Day 1 orientation serving as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all onboarding activities. Your work ensures operational excellence, legal compliance, and a positive first impression of the organization.
You will design and manage the onboarding process, maintain compliance with all I-9 and data-retention requirements, and oversee third-party background screening vendors. In this role, you will partner closely with hiring managers and Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs), lead first-day orientation sessions, and serve as the initial resource for new hires as they transition into the company.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate all background check screenings including medical with third-party vendors to ensure timely completion and compliance with company policy. Partner with Global Security to review results, determine hire eligibility, and communicate outcomes and next steps to hiring teams and candidates.
- Oversee new-hire system integrations across core HR and IT systems to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee records. Troubleshoot integration issues and work with HR, HRIS, and new hires to resolve errors quickly. Contribute to the ongoing design and improvement of recruiting systems to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and enhance the new-hire experience.
- Manage new-hire orientation for Akron Corporate Headquarters, including coordination with IT for technology setup, security/badging processes, and education on company policies, benefits, culture, and facilities. Collaborate with University Relations and other departments to improve orientation design and share best practices across locations.
- Reduce legal and financial risk by ensuring full compliance with OFCCP, Department of Labor, and company requirements—including I-9, E-Verify, and document-retention policies. Partner with internal and external compliance experts to identify risks, support audits, stay current on state/federal regulations, and implement compliant processes and training.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or GED.
- 6+ months of experience in a Human Resources setting (corporate, retail, or manufacturing preferred).
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and HR/HCM technologies, with strong technical learning ability.
- Experience interacting effectively with all levels of the organization from production staff to executives within a global environment.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that values agility and integrity.
What Will Set You Apart
- Knowledge of Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations as it pertains to recruiting and hiring for a federal contractor.
- Knowledge of Talent Acquisition processes.
- Ability to problem-solve and work effectively with all levels of the organization to resolve issues in a fast-paced/demanding environment.
