Tread And Cavity Engineer In Consumer EMEA Product Development

Our Innovation Center – Luxembourg has an open position for a Tread and Cavity engineer in Consumer EMEA Product Development. Your main responsibility will be, with your project team, to develop and release tires for the Replacement market.

Your responsibilities include:

  • In close collaboration with your project team, support the feasibility study and develop design strategy to meet tire performances.
  • With the support of Catia based design tool, design & optimize the mold Tread and Cavity design (tire geometry) to meet the targeted tire characteristics and performances while respecting design guidelines.
  • Assisted by advanced predictive tools, model & predict the impact of your design choices on the tire characteristics, supporting your design optimization.
  • Follow the mold hardware order process up & interact with Global Mold Engineering as well as Mold plant to enable proper manufacturing of your mold design.
  • Handle all Tread and Cavity related questions concerning your tire mold definition and you act as the "Go To" person regarding those questions (plant, customer, etc)
  • With your project team, drive the analysis of the tire test results along with the close the loop analysis with your predicted results.

To Join Our Team, You Will Need:

Education:

  • The candidate must have successfully completed master's degree in mechanical, Physics or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

  • Experience in product/technology development.
  • Experience in project and/or people management.
  • Experience in process development activities is a plus.
  • Experience in people management is a plus.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is a must.
  • Fluency in German and/or French is an asset.

IT, Soft Skills & Others:

  • Interest in tire business or automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with Catia V5 CAD/CAM tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Modeling.
  • Strong understanding of the solid mechanics.
  • Statistical tools is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural team, as well as independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Stress resistant and flexible.
  • Showing initiative – Being proactive.
  • Willing to travel occasionally.
