NPI Engineer

Do you want to ensure product innovation from concept to launch at our high-tech facility where our next generation hearing aids begin their journey? And would you like to work in a constantly evolving global technical environment within an esteemed Medtech, audio, video and gaming conglomerate? Then you might be our new colleague.

As our NPI Engineer, you are a core member of the NPI team, which is responsible for preparing NPI builds, executing production qualification (PQ) activities and securing production release.

You will plan and follow up on NPI activities, manage NPI master data and stock, and contribute to product quality through Design for Manufacturability (DFM), DFx reviews and risk management.

The team you will be part of:

At our high-tech production facility in Præstø on the east coast of Zealand in Denmark, you will become part of an organization of about 100 colleagues within production, operations, supply chain, and administration. We are part of GN Store Nord, which has its global headquarters in Ballerup.

You will report to Senior Technical Manager, Flemming Emstrup Olesen, who is physically located in Præstø.

You will work in a quality-conscious, safe, developmental, and collaborative work environment, where planned changes keep us agile, as part of an international conglomerate.

At GN Hearing, we create advanced hearing aid solutions to improve the lives of people with hearing challenges. It all begins at Component Manufacturing in Præstø, where we produce essential components that contribute to the quality of our hearing aids. Therefore, our ability to deliver is vital.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:

  • Plan, prepare and execute NPI builds; ensure required tools, fixtures, components and documentation are in place.
  • Report NPI build to relevant stakeholder; follow up on open actions and risks
  • Prepare and execute Production Qualification (PQ) activities and prepare production release documentation.
  • Maintain product setup and master data in ERP (D365); act as D365 NPI super user and ensure data accuracy.
  • Manage NPI stock (components, PCBs and prototypes) and coordinate stock provisioning with R&D/Supply Chain.
  • Facilitate internal PCB design reviews and DFx/DFM activities for NPI projects to ensure producibility and testability.
  • Mange and maintain risk management activities (FMEA / risk registers) for NPI projects.
  • Support for Production Performance Reviews.
  • Conduct PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) for external customers and support customer specific qualification requirements.
  • Support sustaining and technology builds as required (transfers, validations, change implementation).
  • Support maintenance and continuous improvement of NPI procedures, templates and work instructions.

To thrive in the role, we imagine that you:

  • A technical educational background within Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or related fields of studies.
  • Have some years of relevant experience in a manufacturing engineering or sustaining role.
  • Process understanding and practical electronics knowledge (PCB/processes).
  • Experience with process capability and data analysis (SPC, Cp/Cpk).
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and IPC standards and experience in regulated environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel advanced preferred).
  • Practical experience with business systems such as D4, Agile and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Experience with PPAP and customer qualification preferred
  • Skilled in solving problems through data and analytical reasoning.
  • Communication skills, able to present technical findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Quality oriented mindset with attention to detail.
  • Fluent in Danish and English (written and spoken).

At a personal level, we imagine that you are structured, have a methodical approach to your work. Cooperative — versatile in engaging with different departments and inspiring others without formal authority.

You should be capable of working in an agile environment during periods of expansion.

Even if you don't match all the above-mentioned skills, we welcome your application if you think you have transferrable skills. We highly value a mindset and motivation that align with our core values, to not only ensure growth for you, but for your team and the wider GN organization as well.
