About The Role

Reporting directly to the APAC Head of Presales, the Pre-Sales Solution Engineer partners closely with the Partner Acquisition Team to drive solution design and the successful integration of software partners onto Global Payments' payment platforms and products. The role is central to ensuring partners and merchants adopt the right payment solutions through expert technical guidance and communication. The Pre-Sales Solution Consultant will form part of the Pre-Sales team for AU/NZ and will lead discovery and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions to enable seamless build and onboarding and ensure integrations meet both customer outcomes and align to Global Payments' value proposition and commercial objectives.

Salary: AUD 150,000 to 170,000 + superannuation.

Responsibilities

Drive Partner and Customer Revenue Growth

  • Collaborate closely with the Partner Acquisition Team to identify and deliver sustainable incremental new customer revenue opportunities that align to Global Payments' product and commercial strategy.

  • Lead and facilitate initial early-stage customer discovery workshops to understand partner and merchant technical requirements and success criteria.

  • Partner with Sales and Partner Acquisition teams during RFI / RFP process and technical discovery sessions.

Deliver Tailored, Customer-Centric Solutions

  • Co-create and present tailored holistic payment solution recommendations, that align to well defined customer outcomes for partners and large merchants.

  • Lead partner meetings (software partner and software developers) with a key focus on developing a customer centric approach and solution. Closely collaborate with identified partner stakeholders virtually and on-site to ensure known key outcomes and requirements are addressed, and a seamless customer experience throughout the lifecycle delivered.

  • Throughout solution development, respond to technical queries from the customer in an efficient manner demonstrating clear thought leadership. Where required, be technically and commercially astute to pivot and ensure the solution is fit for purpose.

  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, recommending solutions that address defined customer needs and provide a sustainable technical and business outcome for both Global Payments and the partner.

Ensure Seamless Solution Development and Integration

  • Provide support throughout the solution development process by developing and delivering technical demonstrations, proofs of concept, troubleshooting guidance and hands on training in the correct use and integration of platforms and services, to ensure effective and successful integration and adoption.

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting and issue resolution in a timely manner to customer and internal teams.

  • Apply strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to diagnose issues and propose solutions.

  • Collaborate with internal Go-to-Market and Operations teams to deliver a seamless customer onboarding journey and rapid time-to-revenue.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Technical Bridge

  • Act as the technical bridge between the Partner, Product, Technology, Operations and Marketing teams to ensure solutions are aligned with strategy, and can be successfully productised for other other target customers in identified vertical.

  • Contribute and assist with the development and maintenance of external product marketing documentation and solution architecture templates, targeted at partner developers and integrators.

  • Contribute and assist with maintaining internal documentation, knowledge base articles and training materials to support and uplift the knowledge and technical capability of all internal stakeholders.

  • Provide the highest level of customer service at all times to all customer interactions, both inside and outside the business, through clear, proactive and empathetic communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Selection Criteria:

  • Essential Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience working with FS technologies in a prior pre-sales or Solutions Architect role;

  • Ability to acquire a broad understanding of integration API's;

  • Ability to drive strategic customer outcome and detailed technical requirement conversations with a sales led focus in large groups and teams;

  • Ability to deliver outstanding internal and external stakeholder management.

  • Professional maturity, high EQ and IQ, to ensure all stakeholders are onboard.

  • Proven proactive client communication experience. Comfortable operating at senior commercial and technical level.

  • Previous exposure to software development.

  • Experience in working with and consuming REST API's and understanding of key API concepts.

  • Ability to write basic SQL queries to extract and analyse data.

  • Ability to think and act commercially, and with a customer-centric mindset.

  • Be practical and analytical with the aptitude and capability to learn quickly and with a positive attitude.

  • Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Prior software development experience is preferred but not mandatory;

  • Working towards or have obtained a tertiary qualification in the technology field;

  • Exposure to high volume transactional environments would be advantageous

  • Exposure to enterprise software solutions would be advantageous

  • Knowledge or experience with PCI DSS
