Engineer Silicon Photonics Characterization

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed measurements of integrated photonic devices, circuits and subsystems
• Develop, build, and operate customized optical measurement setups
• Develop scripts for photonic circuit initialization, control, and automated data acquisition
• Work closely with design team to enable comprehensive performance evaluation and root-cause analysis
• Coordinate with offsite measurement partners and external suppliers as needed
• Contribute to continuous improvement of characterization techniques and measurement methodologies

Required Qualifications

• BSc, or MSc in Electronics and Communication Engineering or a relevant discipline with focus on Silicon Photonics or Integrated Optics
• 1+ years of relevant industrial experience
• Strong fundamentals in physics, electromagnetics, and integrated optics
• Hands-on experience in characterization and measurement of integrated photonic circuits
• Programming and data analysis skills using MATLAB, LabVIEW, and/or Python
• Solid understanding of silicon photonics fabrication, packaging and testing methods
• Experience with high-speed photonic device characterization is a strong
