Collinsville Open Cut is located approximately 160km from Airlie Beach in Queensland, a town known as the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Producing both metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market, the surface mine has a long life and is currently investing in significant upgrades to the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant. Reporting to the CHPP Manager you will ensure that coal is prepared for delivery in accordance with agreed targets, controlling the production process from ROM to train load out.

Your key responsibilities will include decision making, maintaining optimum productivity and maximising utilisation of both people and plant in a safe and sustained manner, whilst working towards achieving team plans and targets. Through building a close working relationship with the maintenance team, you will be an integral part of all aspects of the planning process including continuous improvement. You will be responsible for a team which you will develop and grow through personal mentoring, visible leadership and promoting a culture of openness and honesty.

About You:

• Significant operational experience in a CHPP environment
• Engineering and/or trade qualifications (electrical/mechanical)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to connect and engage with people and bring teams along on the journey
• Commitment to setting and maintaining high safety standards
• Understanding of HSEC and legislative requirements
• Proficient in utilising SAP (highly desirable)
