Who are we looking for?

We're seeking a Maritime Engineer to join our Buildings Engineering & Maritime team in Brisbane. This technical engineering role focuses on undertaking planning and design of maritime infrastructure as part of a high performing maritime team, working on a variety of interesting and challenging projects in key market sectors (including ports, defence, transport, energy and advisory), both in Australia and internationally.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Maritime infrastructure planning and design to add value across the entire project lifecycle and produce outputs to requirement, quality, program and budgetary expectations.
  • Interacting with clients, stakeholders and industry across a diverse range of maritime projects, including for defence, ports authorities, oil & gas, renewable energy and international aid.
  • Development opportunities in project and design management relating to maritime infrastructure.
  • Support and guide graduate engineers within team.
  • Contributing to the preparation of proposals and bids for projects.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Technical design skills (structural, coastal) in delivery of marine infrastructure projects.
  • Approximately 5 years professional experience in the planning, assessment, analysis, design and remediation of maritime structures (e.g. wharves, jetties, ship lifts, pontoons, seawalls, etc).
  • Familiarity with maritime design codes and guidelines in Australia and Asia.
  • Capability in using structural analysis software is desirable (e.g. Strand 7, Space Gass, etc.).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to produce accurate reports, technical specifications, design calculations, and drafting briefs.
  • Degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Achieved or working towards RPEQ registration.
  • Eligibility to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance.
