Senior Software Engineer

Join our diverse teams of passionate people and a career that allows you to develop both personally and professionally. At Getinge we exist to make life-saving technology accessible for more people. To make a true difference for our customers – and to save more lives, we need team players, forward thinkers, and game changers.

Are you looking for an inspiring career? You just found it.

We seek a Software Embedded C++ Engineer who wants to develop innovative medical technology together with competent and engaged colleagues. In Solna, Getinge develops and manufactures ventilators and anesthesia systems used in intensive care and operating rooms worldwide.

In this role, you will work with one of the most central parts of our products – the system that delivers therapy – making a real difference in people's lives. We are looking for you to start immediately in our R&D department in Solna. You will be part of an agile team responsible for therapy delivery in our ventilators – products that played a decisive role during the pandemic. The team is responsible for the entire value chain, from concept to finished release.

In the role of Embedded C++ Engineer, you will work in a cross-functional team with both new development and maintenance of our products. The focus is on the development of the software that controls therapy delivery – that is, the one that regulates the patient's breath – in several of our products.

Development is primarily done in C++, and we follow a structured development process according to the IEC 62304 standard as well as FDA and EU regulations. We use GitLab for version control, integration, and automation.

You and your colleagues work closely together, share knowledge, and contribute to each other's development. Together, you ensure that patients have access to high-quality and safe software – in the right time.

The position is based in our office in Solna, but we apply a hybrid model where remote work is combined with office days.

To succeed in the role, we would like to see that you have:

  • Civil or engineering degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Technical Physics, Mechatronics, or similar
  • 3–5 years of experience in R&D
  • A burning interest in C++ and a willingness to work with modern C++
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, and Linux as a development environment
  • Good knowledge of English in speech and writing (Swedish is meritorious)

Meritorious experiences:

  • Frameworks for graphical interfaces, preferably QT/QML
  • Automated test tools and Python
  • Real-time systems for embedded systems, control and regulation technology
  • Understanding of regulations in medical technology
  • Interest in CI/CD

We place great importance on your personal qualities and are looking for someone who is solution-oriented and takes their own initiatives. You thrive in a team and have a good ability to collaborate. Solving complex problems together with others is seen as a stimulating challenge. You are curious, unpretentious, and open to learning new things – and at the same time quality-conscious and meticulous in your work.

At Getinge, we embrace a learning culture where we take responsibility for our development and value quality and cooperation highly. Above all, we care about each other – that is how we continue to develop world-leading products. We are Team Players, Forward Thinkers, and Game Changers!

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including health care contributions, family benefits, and joint activities and club life. All to support your well-being and your goals. We have an open dialogue between leaders and employees as well as between teams. We focus on development, and together we lay out a plan for learning and competence development from day one in your career with us.

We offer:

  • Work at a medtech company that saves lives and has committed employees
  • A modern and flexible work environment with the possibility of remote work
  • Long-term commitment to your personal development
  • Application

Selection is ongoing and we therefore recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible, but no later than 2025-09-01. Please note that the position may be filled before the last application date. Submit your application through our recruitment system by clicking on the "apply now" button. If you have questions about the role, please contact recruiting manager Richard Af Klint at richard.afklint@getinge.com / 070-782 78 35 or recruiter Frida Svensson at frida.svensson@getinge.com.
