Supports operations in an automotive / stamping & robotic-welding assembly environment.
1) Implement process improvements for electrical control systems using all available current control technologies.
2) Maintain control systems to ensure manufacturing activities are within specifications, interpret, and apply specifications for manufacturability.
3) Support maintenance activities in PM scheduling as well as training and developing maintenance technicians on Mechanical and Controls issues.
4) Collects, tracks, and advises on downtime issues and implements short and long-term solutions to minimize downtime.
5) Manage and execute in-house projects for implementing new engineering changes that modify processes and create/revise electrical drawings in AutoCAD.
6) Develop and implement HMI interfaces for existing manufacturing systems.
7) Review Engineering Changes as related to control systems and provide input and or costing as needed.
8) Support Assembly Equipment buyoffs.
9) Assist with the procurement of controls related to assembly equipment spare parts.
10) Liaise with vendors regarding Assembly software/hardware updates and troubleshooting systems.
ยท BS: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, plus a minimum 3 years' experience in an Automotive Assembly environment.
Proficient with PLC (Siemens, Allen Bradley), Robotic Systems a plus (Fanuc or ABB).
Ability to work in a team-based lean-manufacturing environment.
Proficient in AutoCAD
Working knowledge of robotic (preferably ABB) systems.
Excellent verbal and written skills
Strong people skills with a willingness to empower the team
Effectively able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Clear understanding of Lean Principles & Tools
Working knowledge of MS Office.
