Supply Chain Assistant

General Purpose: Responsible for assisting the Supply Chain department and Supply Chain processes of GLOCK Inc. in Smyrna, GA. Shift(s) Available: - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recommendations of hiring and firing employees and planning, assigning and directing work, conducting employee performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): Assists with the development of short, medium, and long term plans for manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, and shipping in accordance with company established goals and objectives. Calculates, and proposes safety stocks, EOQ, and reorder points for purchased and manufacturing inventory controlled items. Supports warehouse operations and layout optimization. Performs ABC analysis, and creates periodic cycle count orders for the warehouse and Kardex units. Collets and/or records performance data from manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, shipping/receiving, purchasing, and sales departments. Consolidates performance data and creates meaningful reports for monitoring performance goals on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. Performs MRP, and SIC analysis to help determine inventory and production requirements. Periodically audits BOMs and production routings to ensure that correct data is used in the ERP system. Periodically audits status of all production orders to make sure transactions are processed accurately. Supports procurement in analyzing suppliers reliability within the vendor evaluation program. Helps define cost and price reduction roadmaps for all supply chain processes. Searches for opportunities of improvement within the Supply Chain organization, and presents proposals for implementation. Facilitates information exchange with Manufacturing, Assembly, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Sales, Product Management and Business development. Ensures compliance with legal and company ordinances in his/her areas of responsibility and contributes to the development of new concepts after consulting the Company Management. Ensures compliance to ISO-, OSHA- and Environmental Protection regulatory and ensures highest safety standards in his/her area of responsibility. Keeps his/her standard of knowledge up-to-date in his/her area of responsibility through continuing education measures. Contributes to ongoing company development and increasing competitiveness independently and/or in conjunction with superiors; carries out corresponding activities in his/her area of responsibility and beyond; regularly follows up and reports about progress made.
