Employment Terms: This job is a part time, non-benefited, FLSA non-exempt position in the Welding and Joining Technology Program that reports to the Program Director. Salary: Up to $16.64 per hour. Hours: This is an hourly-paid, support position and as a result you may work at least nineteen (19) hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following technical competencies are preferred:

  • Excellent technical skills (including safety) in welding technology with emphasis on GTAW (Aluminum and Stainless) and GMAW processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude: ability to troubleshoot and repair parts on machines; Knowledge of hand/power tools, gasses, and welding (consumables) supplies; Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload; Ability to communicate, meet deadlines, exhibit proper judgment in selecting which questions to handle or re-direct.
  • Demonstrates initiative and professionalism in appearance. Possesses good interpersonal skills with faculty, colleagues and peers, and students.
  • Post-Secondary Education a plus.

Job Description Summary

Under close supervision, provides tool room support including signing out and returning tools to students, organizing the tool room area, cutting/organizing materials, inventory consumable parts and inform the Program Director when stock is low, and clean welding lab as requested.

Duties/Responsibilities

Percentage of Time

  • Assists in organizing and executing routine tool room related activities; other duties as assigned.
  • Sign out and return tools to students; Organize tool room area; Cut/organize materials Inventory consumable parts and notify the Program Director when the stock is low; Clean welding lab.
