Location Designation: Real estate department of a major insurance company seeks an architectural & engineering or construction management professional to provide in-house expertise to support mortgage lending, investment and development activities in Southeastern US. The professional will be responsible for managing and reviewing external consultants performing physical and environmental due diligence for an active lending and investment platform. The position requires knowledge of design, construction and building systems for investment property types, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects. Candidate should have a thorough knowledge of site & civil conditions, structural systems, building enclosure, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), fire protection, life safety and vertical transportation systems. Additionally, candidate should be familiar with environmental and seismic risk assessment and energy conservation practices as well as LEED and other sustainability designations. The ideal Candidate should have 8 years of experience in property inspection, cost estimating, design review, and project management. The professional should have experience inspecting and assessing the physical condition and costs for property types including offices, industrial buildings, retail and multifamily. The professional should also understand site and environmental conditions impacting development and use, including seismic risk and resiliency.
